"There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life."
-- Signs seen on London buses paid for by a group of agnostics.
I love the "probably" part. Because really, the agnostics are right -- there's no real way to conclusively know if there's a God or not. If there is, I doubt that he/she is anything like the usual stereotypes -- stern father figure, cosmic know-it-all, Top Genital Cop.
Either way -- God or no God -- "stop worrying and enjoy your life" is damn good advice. Worry never produced anything except fear, ulcers and misery. And enjoying life, well, that's pretty much what it's all about.
So, put down your theological ruminations for the weekend. Wrap your worries up in the morning paper and pitch them in the trash. (No, please don't recycle them). And enjoy the remnants of autumn. Now.
